Available April – October, these short format fly fishing trips give you the chance to either wade the Gallatin River or float the Lower Madison River, depending on the day’s conditions.

Intended for novices looking to experience a taste of fly fishing, our patient, knowledgeable guides provide everything you need. Bring comfortable clothes and a positive attitude; leave with lifetime memories.

While fun is goal number one, our experienced, professional Montana fly fishing guides ensure your time on the river is educational, successful, and safe. Our 1:1 or 1:2 guide-to-angler ratio means you always get personalized attention.

Rates: $650 for 1 or 2 anglers per guide

Where Do We Fish?

  • Float and/or wade trips to either the lower Madison or Gallatin River
  • Guide determines destination based on water and weather conditions

The standard half-day float trip on the lower Madison River. These are morning trips that are best in the spring and fall. Primetime is April, June, and September.

Wade the Gallatin River

Half-day wade-fishing trip to the Gallatin River in the Gallatin Canyon. These trips operate under a special permit with the USFS Custer National Forest.

Bozeman Fly Fishing Guides

Fins and Feathers Guide Service began in 2000 as an "anglers" fly shop in Bozeman and fly fishing guide service. We sold the fly shop in 2022 to focus on sharing our passion for Montana fly fishing through our outfitting business.

Guided Trip Deposit Policy

Secure a reservation with a deposit when you book your Montana fly fishing trip. Book 30 days in advance and hold your reservation with a 50% deposit. Payment in full is required to secure reservations made within 30 days. See full details here.
